I know this is a dumb but here goes. My Grandson has a Gateway Computer, and is running WindowsXP Pro. He wants to know how he can setup a Logon Password so that no one else can use his computer. I did this on my Dell, but for the life of me I cannot remember how (having a senior moment).
Sure hope someone is willing to answer this question.

I think you are looking for a bios password. For Dell press F2 to get into the bios.

Hi Cybertech,
Thank you for getting back to me. I think you misunderstood what I was trying to explain. I have got a logon password with my Dell, but I forgot how I did it. I know it was simple. The problem now is my grandson needs one on his Gateway, and we don't know how to do it.

If it's like w2k you have to go into control panel/admin tools/local security policy (I think).
