I have Windows Vista and use google and gmail. Email locks up and doesn't respond, eventually a dialogue box opens stating "google.com is not responding due to a long running script." Then it has a box to click on to "Stop script." Even though I click it, it still continues to run and appear the next time I log into email. I'm have IE9. Can someone help?

I just disabled the add-ons as instructed in the 1st solution. I will follow up to let you know if it has solved my problem.
Thanks, Sherry

I am still experiencing the long running scripts even with the add-ons disabled. It actually occurred in another program, I don't remember what program it was.

What about Compatibility View?

Uncheck the "Display all websites in Compatibility View" check box.

j & P 010:

I hope, j, that a new laptop solves your problem.

After uninstalling KB2792100, for > an hour, no problem, then the dreaded "xyz.net is not responding due to a long running script"

I have uninstalled Java 7.13; thus far, no long running script problem notice, BUT I have received xyz.net is not responding".

I have not re-installed KB2792100.

I will unsubcribe from this thread & start my own in the W7 forum.

Best of success, j.
