HI.
I am looking to set up some kind of remote access to my home PC.
I would like to be able to use a shared calender (through Outlook, preferably, but could be some other way), and also be able to access files (mainly .pdfs) to alter, save and view them.
3 separate laptops would require access, from various locations (often using roaming 3G internet).
I would prefer to be able to keep a slide-show running on the home PC while it is being accessed.

If anyone could point me in the direction of something cheap, easy to set up and easy to use, that would be appreciated! :)

I'd consider UltraVNC, it's free and has file transfers and remote console capability. I don't see any reason to pay for this.

You can also use TeamViewer, they have a remote control module that requires no manual intervention on the server side, it's also free for personal use.

I've used both of these products with success, and I can't imagine why I'd want to spend money to solve this problem. :)
