I'm looking for a Desktop PC for light use. (SFF is fine.) Just emailing and MS Word, that sort of thing. I've narrowed it down to two. (Although I am open to better suggestions.)

    1) Dell https://www.dell.com/en-us/work/shop/cty/pdp/spd/vostro-3470-desktop/smv3470w10ps5063 $299 from Dell flyer

Questions: 1) (From the Tech Specs & Customization tab) Is the tray able to read and write CDs and DVDs or is that extra?
    2) Does the computer have Wi-fi capability?

    2) HP https://www.bestbuy.com/site/hp-des...state-drive-jet-black/6366134.p?skuId=6366134 $379 on Black Friday at Best Buy

I was thinking (I'm no tech expert in this stuff) the HP might be worth the extra $79 but then I saw its processer speed was only 2.6 GHz. But then I thought maybe the SSD makes up for that.

And the reviews for the Dell were kind of bad, whereas the reviews for the HP were pretty good, several stating the computer was fast.

    Any feedback is appreciated. Thanks.

Thanks Johnny. I love refurbished stuff, but this time I'm looking for a new one. (The Lenovo looks sweet!)

I'm partial to the Lenovos too. This is my second one that I have now which is the M83 ThinkCentre and I've never had any issues with either of them.

Both of my refurbs are M82 ThinkCentre s.

I bought a new Lenovo ThinkCentre about 7 or 8 years ago and it still impresses me with it's consistency. Never a problem in 8 years. ( knock on wood )

I read a lot of reviews, and I'd say nearly everything has at least a few 1-star "Don't buy's" to go with the 5-star "Wow!'s." It makes selections harder some times, because a lot of those 1-star reviews raise some good points.

Since I have some more technical knowledge, I like to build my own, but those are always more expensive. If people recommend Lenovo, I'll keep their advice in mind if I feel like buying a brand name some time down the road.

One day down the road I'll build my own too. I'm actually looking forward to that day.
