Looking for good, free file sync utility

    Yes, that is exactly what I'm wanting. Sorry if I wasn't clear.

    I've been using AllwaySync since someone posted it the other day and it seems to be working well so far.

    I use Beyond Compare, but it's not free. Works great for this kind of thing.

    I've been using a utility called FileSync 2.04 for a few years. You can get info here:

    I have the same condition. I work on jobs with my laptop, but use my desktop at my home office and need latest file versions in both places

    Have you tried Windows Briefcase? I used to use it all the time when I was still working.

    Almost any of the previous suggestions beat the pants off Briefcase! Even the guys at Microsoft thought they needed a better sync utility, that's why SyncToy was created. :)

    Well, it has been some time since I needed to use it. Then I could fit my files on a floppy. I guess there have been a few improvements.:)

    Thanks for all the suggestions everyone. I've been using Allway Sync since it was suggest and it's working great so far.
