I'm looking for a good low-level format tool and went to Seagate.com to download PowerMax and/or SeaTools. Seatools was unavailable while being upgraded and PowerMax will only create a boot floppy. Since most of the machines I work on have no floppy drive, this is a useless tool. I need something I can boot up from the CD drive. Any suggestions out there?
    RTG

Thanks, Augie. I will, however, have to get approval to spend the "huge" $4. I can't spend any money without the owner's OK. But, hopefully, she won't have a problem with this and I can download the utility I need. Thanks, again. :)

You can create a bootable CD from a boot floppy with Nero, and many other CD burning applications.

I have no problems getting the Maxtor Tools on CD. I am pretty darn sure they have it for download in CD format.

You could always use Dban to do a low level format as well. It comes on CD as well.
