Looking for some good software

I don't really have an issue with software so i hope i posted this in the right spot. I was wondering if anyone knows any good software to buy, I usually only game on my computer so i am not familiar with the rest of the software industry. Just wanted to know if anyone knows any good programs to try. thanks..

ya i guess it is kinda hard to give info on such a big area... Unfortunatly i really don't know... i was just wondering if anyone used a program lately and really liked it and would recommend it...like i recently used office 2003 and it is ALOT better then all the other office years but no biggie it was not a very good question i was asking lol thanks for the reply though
