Suddenly lost slave hard drive.
Using Windows XP.

Have had primary master and slave hards, fine until now.
Although, I can still see it when booting (BIOS) and in Device Manager, when I attempt to access it, it's either not recognized, or it tells me "Drive not formatted...". I do not want to format the drive, it was good until now (have data on it).

Already tried the following:
Reboot
Re-install W-XP (on top of the existing Windows XP)
Moved the HD from 'primary slave' to secondary slave'
Installed other hard drives (known to be good)
Nothing helps-would apreciate a solution.

Installed other hard drives (known to be good), and could't access them either, although I could see them.
All drives are IDE.
