I know that this have been posted a lot of times already, but I just want to know something...I did all the diagnostics for audio, and am thinking of resorting to checking my CPU and removing the sound card and reinstalling it again. but my PC, a Compaq Presario had Windows pre-installed without any drivers at all. I'm afraid that I might mess it up completely...Any advice?

Go here and try to find new or old drivers from your compaq before trying anything.

If you get the drivers from compaq try to reinstall them before anything.

If that doesn't work you may have to remove the card in device manager, reboot, and reinstall the drivers.
