lost connection with belkin router

    I have lost my connection with my belkin router, i have restarted the modem and the router and it did nothing, i also reset the router back to the factory setting and can not access the router webpage. Can anyone help me please

    Try connecting the computer using a different cable. Also try using a different port. You may also need to test using a different computer (to rule out a NIC issue). Or if you don't have a second computer, try connecting the computer directly to the modem (if that works, then the computer NIC is fine).

    Are you getting a link light on the NIC and the router switch port?

    The router could simply be faulty.

    Can other computers in the household access it
    when you type in the address of the router 192.168.2.1

    I switched the cords and the port and nothing changed, i have connected the modem to my computer and i have internet

    when I type in 192.168.2.1 nothing happens and i have also used the default gateway address and that also did nothing

    Can that happen anytime? I have had this router for a few years , also should i just buy a new router

    of course it can, like any other electronic equipment
    Should you buy a new one - that depends on how you are placed for getting that one checked and repaired
    capacitor - resistor - few pence
    if you know someone who can diagnose fault

    I preusme you have reset as here
    1. While the router is powered on, use a paperclip to press the reset button for seven seconds or so. The router lights will flash and this will restore the router to factory default.

    2. Connect your computer to one of the routers lan or ethernet ports with a straight/patch network cable.

    3. Open up a browser or just click here http://192.168.2.1 to access router’s configuration page. You may be prompted for an administrator login. There is no password when the login screen appears
