I created and saved a Word document last year and did some editing to it today. Am 100% positive that I saved it and now it is nowhere to be found. All other documents are still there, just this one missing.

Did some research on this and apparently there is a way top retrieve it, however, most of the remedies were pretty complicated.

Is there a simple way I can retrieve this document??

    Thanks.

Does it show up in MS-Word's list of recent documents? Can you open it if it does?

Have you done a search in all locations and for both visible and hidden files on your computer and any attached storage devices?

EDIT: What version of MS-Word are you using?

Just did a search and it finally came up with computer. Funny, though, I tried that earlier today with now luck.

Anyway, I have the file and sent it to Documents.

Any idea why this may have happened???

    Thanks!

You're welcome. Glad to hear you found it.

As for not finding it the first time, maybe you thought you were searching everywhere on the computer but may have only been looking in some sub-directories -OR- making a typo in the search box. Those are my two slip ups when I do a search.
