lost of free space

    i'm running windows xp and i made 3 cd of stuff and then deleted the files from hard drive then i emptied the recycle bin but now i have same free space as before i deteted them and can't find files either any ideas?

    I am pretty new to XP myself but I have noticed that there is a backup program running that backups everything you do, sort of like "GoBack" does. You can turn this feature off but I haven't found how exactly as of yet. This might be where your hard drive space is going.

    i found my files i deleted they went to a hidden dir called system volume\restore only did it that one time so not sure why it did!! but got my 2 gig back :) thanks for help
