Hi, and welcome to the TSG forum :) (y)

    please post a hjt log
    HIJACK THIS:
    Try not to reboot
Currently the Spyware identified by the security experts and especially the morphing and breeding .exe`s in the new variants of CWS, after every re-boot required by Ad-Aware and Spybot etc, just spawns more and more files for the poster to find and delete. This is making the advice the security experts give just too hard to follow.
One of the security experts recently had one log with over a hundred files, they guy had to format c: drive.

Download and copy hijackthis to its own folder , it makes backups so keeping them separate and available can be useful.

Note the Spyware tools websites are very often under attack and so I have provided more than 1 location to download from:

    http://www.tomcoyote.org/hjt/
    http://209.133.47.200/~merijn/downloads.html
    http://www.thespykiller.co.uk/
    http://www.majorgeeks.com/download3155.html
http://www.sherrylynn.us/privacypolicy (this has an older version 1.97 - if you can not get to any of the above sites)

Close all open windows and open Hijack This. Click “Scan”. When the scan is finished (it only takes a second), the scan button will change to “Save Log”.
Click on “Save Log” and then save it to NotePad.
Click on “Edit” – “Select all” – “copy” and then “paste” into the thread.
DO NOT FIX ANYTHING wait advice from one of the many security experts in this forum.

I currently do not have the skill/competence to advise and poor advice can be far more damaging to your PC with this software, and so I will be unable to add any advice on the log and so will nolonger be replying to your post with regards to the HJT issue, so please have patience and wait for one of the secruity experts to provide further detailed advice

i will however, be notified when you post the log

yep spot on (y) (y) doing OK so dont worry

the only thing is to move the hijackthis.exe file - you currently have it in a temp location (although i think you may have created this - some temp files get deleted automatically) and it needs to be in a directory of its own and if the secruity guys recommend any changes then it creates a backup and in temp you may lose these - so move the file to a dirctory in my documents say hjt.

wait a while for the secruity gurus to get round to looking at your log - they have a lot of logs on the site right now they are reviewing.

Yes,etaf is correct...place HijackThis in a "New" folder on the desktop.
    Uninstall "MyWebSearch" in Add/Remove Programs.
    ================================

Run hijackthis again and put a checkmark against these entries....double check
    in case you miss anything....
.....then,close all browser and outlook windows including this one and "fix checked"

Reboot into safe mode by following instructions here: http://helpdesk.its.bethel.edu/resnet/Documents/Antivirus/Safemode.html
then as some of the files or folders you need to delete may be hidden do this:
Open Windows Explorer & Go to Tools > Folder Options. Click on the View tab and make sure that "Show hidden files and folders" is checked. Also uncheck "Hide protected operating system files" and untick "hide extensions for known file types" . Now click "Apply to all folders"
    Click "Apply" then "OK"

    Locate and remove:
    C:\Program Files\Kontiki [FOLDER]
    C:\Program Files\AWS [FOLDER]
    C:\Program Files\QuickSearch [FOLDER]
    C:\Program Files\Kazaa\My Shared Folder\Games (1).exe

You may need to re-install Spybot....Ill leave it up to you to choose what to do with Kazzalite but thats where most of the crap comes from,P2P programs.
    You were lucky

"lilmama" - you need to stay with the guru boys here - have a look in the security forum and check up on posts by flrman1;$teve;Rollin' Rog;Cybertech;cookiegal these boys/girls do a great job here and on other forums they support. In the last 6weeks, where I have been active assisting voluntarily here everyday they have resolved 100% of the problems or (logs are clean )that I have worked on and requested they have a look at a log.

BUT you really need to stay with them and follow there advice, if they are going to resolve it for you.

Once you had completed $teve recommendations and then posted a new log he would have taken you to the next steps of the process......

I'm sure if i'm speaking out of line here there post - I also appreciate how frustrating it is - i had 2 PC infected and it took 2 days to clean up with flrman1 help - but they have been clean every since by simply following the advice and precautions (now i'll get an attack :D  )
