ok I have been getting this error low system resources for a little over a week. Yesterday I was on the chat and they told me to do the following:

start, run msconfig and uncheck load startup group items and reboot

Well i did this and they told me my problem should be solved. Well about 45mins later the error came back. Does anyone know how to fix this. My resources says that i am 65% free so I am lost.

Download, install and run HijackThis and post the results back.

Do not fix anything without the assistance of someone here telling you what to fix, and what not to fix.

this is to check to see if you have utilities that are running that maybe shouldn't be.

Also, post some of your System specs, such as Operating System, CPU, RAM, HDD space (free and used).

Well I have done everything I can think of I am still getting this problem and seems to get worse. I still cant run defrag. It keeps saying it is restarting. I even let the thing run all night when I got up in the morning it was still trying to defrag but it just keeps restarting. I have unchecked all the boxes in my startup. I have ran ad ware. I am so frustrated with this computer I dont know what else to do. Does anyone have anymore ideas????
  8. RandyG

    Jun 26, 2000
as far as running defrag, you need to make sure that you end task all profgrams running in your Task list, except for Explorer and systray. the reaosn it can't complete is because something is running, and disturbing it.

Another way is to start Windows in Safe mode, and run defrag from there.

I can't help you much with the Hijack log, as I do not know the ins and outs of it.

I would suggest posting that log in the Security forums to have the hijack gurus check it out.
