The right (volume control) speaker has lost about 80% of its volume. If you hold it to your ear, you can hear that it has sound. Left speaker is fine.

I purchased a set of new speakers - no good.
I ran OEM Sound Diagnostics - no good.
I have run every audio test and made every volume adjustment that I can find to make.

    Is it the sound card?

So you've moved the Balance slider all the way to the right and still no joy?

Thank you, sir, for your response. Well, I know I'm not crazy so I will just tell you what I see. I went to "sounds" in the control panel just to verify the "balance" adjustment.. The long, rectangular control panel labeled "Play Control" with the 9 volume adjustments ends on the far right with "PC Speakers". However, the PC Speakers column is only half there and none of the adjustments are active and most are inaccessible. (sigh) Welcome to my computer.

I'm confused, all my columns have a balance, the first one controls all.

Yes, sir. In the "Play Control" column (1st one) adjusting the "Balance" has no effect at all on the speaker in question.

Does it cut the one that works when you slide it?

Have you tried re-installing it? I would go into Device Manager, find the card, right click and 'Uninstall'. Shut down your computer, pull the card and re-seat it. When you boot up again install the drivers, if still no joy I would dump it.

If you aren't a gamer there are lots of choices.
