    Hi guys and gals,

An update on a previous system error I was having - and thanks for those who replied - whilst waiting for my new hd to arrive I was still trying to get into my old hd and was randomly pressing the F keys - I pressed F10 and the system did a 'restore of factory settings' but it said that all of my data would be stored in 'My old disk structure' directory as another partition would be created - Wonderful I thought!!! :)

So I happily let it do this restore thingy and it all seemed fine - but then when I went to boot it up it loads XP and goes into a desktop look but a window pops up that says 'Lssas.exe system error password' and something about the parameter being wrong. Then the PC just reboots itself!

I can't load safe mode, I can't stop this window from popping up, I can't stop the reboot!

I've looked up on the lssass.exe error and it seems it might have been from a virus that my anti virus cleaned but has left this error - various options seem to remove the thing from the registry - which is all fine and dandy but my PC just reboots itself - can anyone suggest anything????

    Thanks in advance

Yes do a manual backup of all of your programs and then do a full installation of your operating system. Never rely on any re-installation to do any backup for you always do it your self. Here are some instructions for doing a clean installation of Windows XP. You amy want to print this article for reference.

Trouble is I can't get gain access to the h/d because the PC just reboots each time, I've tried safe mode etc but no good.

Any other thoughts on my problem? :)

Thanks for your quick reply :) :) :)
