Lucent WinModem

    SuSE Linux does not detect the Lucent Winmodem on my HP Pavilion .... does anyone know how to fix this? By the way I am completely Unix illeterate. Just now trying to learn. Thanks in advance for any suggestions

    Try www.linmodems.org for an excellent collection of information on winmodems and making them work with Linux.

    I had a winmodem on my computer and never got it to work. I finally ripped it out and tossed it in the drawer. I use cable for my Internet, so I don't really need a modem.
