I am currently using a MacBook Pro that is running on Leopard 10.5.8 operating system. I am trying to update to the most recent operating system. I understand that in order to do that I need to go through the other updates that I have missed. When I try to update to Snow Leopard (which I believe is the next update from 10.5.8) it tells me that I need to have version 10.6. However, I believe that is what I am trying to download when I'm downloading Snow Leopard. My processor is 2.26 GHz Intel Core Duo. Furthermore, my disk drive is broken and therefore cannot purchase it in disk form. I am trying to find a download on line that will update my operating system. Any help is GREATLY appreciated. I am trying to save myself the money of sending it in to apple to have them fix it which is very expensive.
