Mac Software on a Linux Platform?

    The title pretty much covers the question. Can Linux run Mac software, since they are both Unix systems?

    Yes, there are distros created specifically for PPC.

    Ubuntu, Slackware, Gentoo...

    Hmm, does that mean that Mac software won't work on SuSe?

    I misunderstood you.

    I thought you meant, could a Mac run a Linux distro...(answer: yes)

    Don't know about individual programs.

    Googling, I found some links that seemed to suggest that this can be done, but it looks a bit tricky.

    If you mean running MacOSX apps like your can with WINE and Windows apps, no.

    But you can install a MacOSX environment in Linux and run apps thats way. Tools to do this are QEMU, PearPC. If you have MacOSX for Intel you can get it to run in a VMware player also.
    (Runs quite well also.)
