I have a friend who tried to update her MacAfee AV program on line. The download was successful. (she uses Win98).
But trying to install the update she ran into a wall. Part way into the installation process a dialog box popped up: "This program requires Explorer 4.01 with Service pack 2 or higher.. Please run set-up again".
What does she do now? She checked her version of IE and it is 4.72.3110.

I think that what she has is the 4.01 SP1.

It might be a good idea to upgrade. I recommend
    <A HREF="http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/downloads/recommended/ie55sp2/default.asp">Internet Explorer 5.5 SP2</A>

    Good luck,

    Tony,
Your are a wiz - do you work for Microsoft?

I'll suggest to my friend that she upgrade IE as you suggest. But how does she do that? Can she download it from MS?

Just click the link in my post, It'll take you straight to the download site.

Just make sure you disable most running progs during download and install (antivirus, download manager, etcetera)

    Good luck,
