Machine shuts off at random times

The title says it all. It doesn't matter what I'm doing or not doing, as it will shut off when it is just sitting. I didn't know where to post this as I don't know whether it's a hardware or software issue.

The issues which come to mind first and foremost are either excessive temperatures or a defective PSU. There are trigger settings in BIOS/UEFI that will shut down a machine if they're exceeded to prevent damage. In that regard, I would advise downloading and running HWMonitor to keep an eye on things when the PC is working.

If the temperatures are fine and it's still shutting down, this may be showing a PSU that's on its way out and needs replacement.
