Go to your Start Menu and type in Backup and Restore.

Click on 'Create a System Image' on the left hand side.

NOTE: One DL-DVD will be able to handle it all usually.
NOTE: I would also make a system repair disc.

To literally do an "install" you have to purchase Windows.

You probably have a Recovery partition and the ability to create one set of Recovery DVDs or CDs. You should make this set, as the Recovery partition could become unusable. "Recovery" re-images your system to factory defaults. Often you can also buy Recovery DVDs from your PC manufacturer.

As LagunaGTO said, it is advisable to also make a System Repair Disk. And, as LagunaGTO also said, at any time you can create an image of your current system for backup purposes by using the built in Windows 7 feature or one of many free or for-pay utilities.

With a custom build you should have also received a genuine (probably System Builder's) installation DVD. If you didn't get that and there is no Recovery partition you probably were dealt a pirated Windows.

    To answer your question ...

Start - All Programs - Maintenance - Create a System Repair Disc.

You can download Widows 7 and make a new boot up DVD. However you must have your license key. [link to pirated software deleted by mod]

It's a constant battle to make software available to customers who buy it and away from pirates. I am not calling you a pirate, 'cause you probably trusted the advice.
