The current printer to be used is the last one used, we would like Windows to use and remember the "Default" printer.

How do we do this ?

I do this on all of the systems here; control panel>hardware and sound>devices and printers. Right click your printer and choose set as default. Windows will put up some warning about it being better to just let windows manage the printers. I just close the warning.

Yes, that works.
BUT, I went to Window key, settings and not Control Panel.

Here again is the real world that Settings does NOT contain all of Control Panel.☹😡

Thanks for the help, we hope this will do it!

That will work, but it is in Settings, too:

Settings -> Devices -> Printers and Scanners -> uncheck 'Let Windows manage my default printer'
Click on the printer you want as default -> Manage -> Set As Default

Thanks now I see it.
It does appear to be working.
