    hi guys,

i have a client pc that has a ridiculous mail pst file that is 12GB large
compacting doesnt work, neither does archiving...

what is the easiest way to reduce this file size...
now its keeping about 5 years of mail
i only need about 2 years history..and store the rest away

does anybody know a handy tool

    thanks in advance

Why do you need to install / download / use anything? Just create multiple PSTs, and drag and drop the messages into them. There's nothing special about this that requires special software.

I don't know of a tool.......I've tried pst splitter, but I don't even know if that is around anymore. Nowadays I just manually archive them by year and burn it to disk for them.

alicesam01, is this a utility you've personally used? If not, do not recommend programs based on a Google search. There are thousands of PST utilities available for purchase and download. Some may work, and others may not. We're here to offer help based on actual experience, not our ability to run a search faster than someone else.

Is he removing attachments from his emails after he reads them and saving them to a folder on his computer? If he isn't you should get him in the habit of doing that.
