Is malware only stored on secondary memory? My desktop has been having malware-related issues and I was wondering if just replacing the hard drive and installing an OEM copy of Windows 7 would be enough.

F-secure Internet Security 2010 detected 2 trojans in C:\Windows\Installer\bded9.msp. After deleting it in safe mode caused program malfunction, I used system restore to go back 1 week earlier, and now the viruses seem to be gone. Could these trojans have stolen some personal information while they were active? At the time I was logged into my gaming account.

Thanks for taking the time to respond! :D

PS - This might be nothing but when I go to a Wikipedia website the icon for another website (Gamehouse) appears beside the address. Is this a bad sign?
