mandrake 9.1 xine dvd codec problems

i have mandrake 9.1 and a pioneer dvd-114 on my secondray as a slave..my secondray master is my cd-rom..on desktop is just has ti cd icons,,cd and cd{1}.. when i try to use xine to play dvds it comes up saying cannnot find url for plugin..or something like that..i checked packages out and found one with dvd codecs and installed package..but still dosent make a difference..how do i get it to play dvds??is the software on one of the 3 cds i have??

There are legal issues with Linux and DVD codecs and as such,they are not included with most distros.If you want to play DVD movies you might want to look into Ogle or do a Google search.Until recently,I never bothered with doing the DVD thing on my computer as I prefer to watch them on a TV set.Then I got a DVD burner and started using Geexbox to see if DVD-Rs were burned successfully.It just took a small download and I burned the whole thing to a cd-r.Just run it from from the CD like Knoppix.
