Many pc makers are offering a program to upgrade to windows vista for free or reduced price. My parents had bought a new emachines pc the day before Christmas.
I tried looking for the terms and conditions but couldn't seem to find them (emachines)
It is assumed the upgrade will be specifically for the pc bought, but is it possible to instead use the upgrade on another pc?
Does this version shipped have some form of protection that will only allow it to work on said computer (in this case, the emachines)
I'm also unsure of the legalities of this. Is it ok to do this?
If someone can direct me to the "fine print" I would be greatful.

the upgrade will be an upgrade license specific to the pc purchased. To be perfectly legal, you can not move this upgrade to a different pc.
