    looking for prior detail transaction entries for general ledger. year are there but no detail. any ideas?

    It depends on how you set it up in your options. Go into general ledger, setup, general ledger options. You will see 2 settings: number of years to retain Transaction history and number of years to retain Summary history. If you chose only 1 year to retain transaction history, after you close out a year-end you will not be able to view the detailed transactions from prior years. Summary history refers to period-end totals only. The more years you retain transaction history, the larger your files will become. It's a personal preference.
