master boot record?

    ok folks i think i screwed up my master boot record. i have no idea what it is. is it on my hdd or bios or what. if i messed it up installing linux how can i fix it so i can boot xp without getting boot disk error message.

    Boot with an MS-DOS floppy and type the following command.

    FDISK /MBR

    This will remove the Linux boot manager and allow XP to boot.
