This is a simple question but I can't find a definitive answer. I want to use Maxblast 3 to clone an existing Maxtor 40GB drive to a new Maxtor 40GB drive. The instructions look straight forward but I just want to be sure that if after I completed the cloning I connected either of the drives as the primary master I could boot from whichever one was connected.
The reason I as is that Maxtor's instructions end by saying " The old drive can now be used for additional storage" which is fair enough , but if I wanted to could I boot from it? The cloning process surely doesn' mess with the boot record does it. I just want to be sure before I get down to do this.
Thanks for your help.
