    Hey everyone:)

I'm curious to know what kind of overclocks you have seen or achieved for the AthlonXP range of processors.

gotrootdude's own specs from post http://forums.techguy.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=168301
    atonished me :

    1700+ thoughbred/[email protected] 2609mhz
    Epox 8RDA+
    512megs DDR
    TMD magnetic air cooling.

Is that figure 4 real & have a stable system ( never mind stable, i'm surprised it hasnt just blown-up !)

Core voltage is set at 1.7v with a small boost the the memory voltage as well. Been running 24/7 for two months..

Course, that's nothing compared to the way the new bartons overclock.

Keep in mind that out of 5 machines built from identical parts at the same time useing the same stepping cpu, only one of the machines does this.. None of the others will even come close when overclocked... I got lucky.

For the answer, it depends on the chip.

Some of the 1700+ and 1600+ made in the final production were actually relabeled 2800+ chips. Therefore, it depends on the stepping. mine are all JIUHB chips of which some are relabeled 2600+'s, 2400+'s, and some are 2800+'s. I have seen a overclock up to 3200mhz but can't remember where anymore. If your looking to buy, get the JIUHB DLT3 steppings.

    ebay search link.

Most tbred 1700s should get over 2.0 ghz............have seen some as high as 2.8 on water cooling............out of the 4 that I have had my best was 2.2ghz(200x11.0).......the worst was slightly over 2.0.......But just as important as the stepping is the RAM,mobo and cooling...........good luck:D
