A friend plugged my 200gb external hdd into his ps2 usb port and since then it wont work. I plug it in the pc now and it installs it and everything says its ready for use, but when i go to My Computer and click it, it freezes. Seems to be a goner, but if there is a way to get around this please help, i have so much stuff i need off this hd. The hdd is a Maxtor One Touch 200gb hdd. I have also tried the HDD on mulitple computers still no luck. If anything can be done to fix this i would appreciate the help.

    Unplug ALL USB devices.
    Open Device Manager.
    View, Show Hidden Devices.
Uninstall all devices under USB Controllers.
Uninstall all devices under Storage Volumes. Say no to any reboot prompts until you are finished. Also, if a Storage Volume doesn't uninstall, ignore it and move to the next one.
If you have a yellow ? with unknown devices, uninstall all of the entries there as well.

When this is done, reboot TWICE.

Reconnect the USB devices and see if they're recognized properly.

We only have an X Box around here, but I assume it's a Play Station.

Perhaps the PS2 decided that the hard disk wasn't formatted and "fixed" it for him. :)

It took me a while to realize it was a game console. :D
