I just installed a Maxtor Diamond/Max/Plus 120 GB using an ADS Pyro Fireware kit off of an iMAC DVD Special Edition running OS 9.2. The PC recognized the drive and said that it would format it out at 114 GB, which is about what I expected. However, when I check the drive under properties it only shows to be about 50 GB. Any idea of what is happening here.

PS: I use this combo with other maxtor drive the largest being a 80 GB and it works great.

    Hi and welcome.

Just put in my 2 cents worth: One reason could be there are hd size limitations with some mobos and you may have to partition to smaller chunks. Or the psu output wattage may not be great enough.

Boot with a windows boot disk. When you get to the
a:> type c: dir and hit enter.
The c: is an example. You will need to use the actual drive letter. What does it show there for size? This should tell if it is a bios or windows problem.
