Less than a week ago I got a new laptop with McAfee installed on it. As with any new antivirus software, I have allowed the things that I use the most to pass through the filter. However, I allowed IRC, yet it keeps blocking it again. I go into my VirusScan console to unblock the IRC, and no more than 5 minutes later, IRC is blocked again. I have tried unchecking the IRC boxes, removing them from the list, and even altering the ports it covers. All in vain. Please help me.

Thanks in advance,
Swimbaby

Being a user of McAfee please answer:

1. What is your operating system and service pack
2. What version of Virus Scan.
3. What are the Engine and DAT files of McAfee.

If you would like to Chat with a McAfee technician please click here.

When at the site click "Free Internet Chat".

Supply First and Last name
Supply the email address you ued to register with McAfee when you first installed the sofrware.

1. XP Professional, service pack 2 <-- OK
2. Version 8.0 <-- Would recommend 10.0 but your choice

To check engine and DAT

1. Right click t M icon
2. Select Virus Scan
3. Click About.
4. Tell me what it says.
