    I upgraded mce to vista under the impression it was free. At the end of 30 days it wanted a product key. What key should I have given it? Mce key?

    You did not install a retail version of Vista since it was just released two days ago. Where did you get this upgrade to Vista?

    I found it on the internet, I can't remember where but I saved it to disc. To prove it I'll mail it to you. What about the product key?

    There is no "free" version of Vista floating around on the Internet, other than some of the beta trials that have since been closed. I can assure you that Microsoft has not posted the RTM version for people to download. :rolleyes:

    I don't need you to mail it to me to let you know it is an illegal copy. Go buy a retail version at the store. If you paid for that version 30 days ago, you got duped.

    That's a pre-release. It's not production.

    RC1 = Release Candidate 1
    RC2 = Release Candidate 2

    Both are expiring beta versions.
