I bought a game called Medal of Honor:Allied Assault. It installed correctly but I can't get into any of the levels or play it at all.
I was wondering if I don't meet the video card requirements to play the game.
    Here are the requirements:
    The Official MOHAA System Requirements
Windows XP/ME/2000/98/95 (Windows NT not supported)

450 MHz Intel Pentium or 500 MHz AMD Athlon processor

    128 MB RAM

    8x CD/DVD-ROM drive

1.2 GB free hard disk space plus space for saved games, Windows swapfile, and DirectX 8.0

16 MB DirectX 8.0 compatible video card with OpenGL support

    DirectX 8.0 compatible sound card

    Keyboard

    Mouse
    Supported Chipsets:
    ATI Radeon

    ATI Rage 128

    ATI Rage 128 Pro

    NVIDIA GeForce2

    NVIDIA GeForce 256

    NVIDIA GeForce3

    NVIDIA Riva TNT

    NVIDIA Riva TNT2

    PowerVR3 Kyro

    PowerVR3 Kyro II
    Recommended
700 MHz or faster Pentium III or AMD Athlon processor

32 MB DirectX 8.0 compatible video card with OpenGL support
    Required for Multiplayer
    1 disc/player per computer

Internet (2-32 players): 56 Kbps or faster Internet connection

Network (2-64 players): TCP/IP compliant network

I don't know if I am open-gl capable or whatever.
I have an HP Pavilion 7840, 766 Mhz, 196MB of ram, intel 810 chip set.

I have a Trident video card that does not have OpenGL support. I, too, recently bought Medal of Honor: Allied Assault and have found it inoperable on my machine, presumably for this reason.

As a practical matter, can I just replace my video card with one that supports OpenGL (whatever that is), or would it make more sense to buy a new computer? (Other games requiring OpenGL, like Quake II, don't work either). Assuming I can just replace the video card:

    1) Which card would you recommend for optimum game performance?

    2) Where is a good place to buy and install the card?

Many thanks for any responses. Please keep in mind I am a computer idiot when drafting your responses. Thanks.
