This is a US company who bombards me in the UK with spam/junk mail but the 'unsubscribe' link does not work.

Can someone advise a retiree how to stop this please,?

If I can just block the address that'll be better than nothing

FireFox and Windows 10 user

Thanks :)

The 'unsubscribe' link always works. Just usually not the way you desire. With reputable companies it stops the mail within about a week. With most of the advertising companies it assures them that they have a "good" address and somebody who opens their messages and can mean they can sell this guaranteed good address to other spammers for more money.

My advice for the future is to click on 'unsubscribe' only if it is a company in which you have some trust.

If I knew what email client you use or what email service I may be able to suggest how to block or filter senders.

Thanks for the reply

I believe it's the one that comes with Windows 10

media.115promo.online unuscribe link does not load up straight away and then I receive the "time out" straight away.

I'm on fibre broadband and other links are instant to load up, it looks to me this situation is a deliberate attempt to circumvent unuscribing?

NEVER click an unsubscribe link in an email. Most of the time it simply leads to more spam, as you've discovered.
media.115promo will change to something like media.116promo and they just keep coming with the numbers before promo changing.

You need to read the full headers in an email so you can block where the email is coming from.

Yes. It appears to be a spammer.
Code:

Block that IP address in your email and those should stop.

Thanks. That should block the junk you are getting.
