Media player has to search for music library on every boot up

I am new to the forum. I have been searching for a solution to this problem for a while now and came upon this site by accident. I searched the forums already posted to see if the subject has already been adressed, but could not find any posts concerning my specific problem.

It is not a major problem, just an annoying one. My music library is on my D drive. Media player searches, finds and loads all of my music without any problem. Every time i boot my laptop and open media player, the music is gone and media player has to search the whole computer for all my music files again. It finds them without any problem, but i do not have access to my whole library for an hour on every boot up. Is this normal for windows 7. Did i do something wrong setting up my library and is their a fix for this?

thanks

Well, I have waited a week and my media disappeared only twice. Once on a shut down and once while lap top was in hibernation mode.

So the issue is not fully resolved , but almost. i am sure there a simple tweek i have not thought of.

Does anyone have any ideas? thanks!

Well my problem still is not resolved. Sometimes my music library is there sometimes it is not. There is no pattern to it. sometimes when i reboot my computer the music library is there and when my computer hibernates, upon awaking my library is gone. Sometimes the opposite happens. I have no clue as to what the problem might be.

any extra ideas

thanks
