I'm running with Windows XP and Media Player was playing sound but now does it no longer although plays visibly on the screen. I have Creative Play Center 2 installed too and I think it is set to play by default any CD I insert. I would like to be able to turn this off but dont know how, perhaps someone could help with why I cant hear anything from M Player? Ive also connected TV to the SVHS out port on my graphics card but again no picture! I tried looking in Properties to set this up but couldnt work out exactly how to set to Twin View. I'd like to able to see and hear! Cheers for ya help..

    Hiya and welcome

Now, lets see. You say you have no sound coming through.
Whats your sound card? Go to Control Panel | System. Device Manager, under Sound will be the name of your sound card. Whilst you're there, are there any yellow !

Is the WMP the only software that you get no sound with? Go to the volume icon near your clock, rightclick and choose Open Volume Controls. Options | Properties. Tick all the boxes and click OK. Are any of the boxes muted?

Does this problem, if its just WMP, happen with all move files? Go here and download this. It will be in your Default download folder, usually My Documents.

    Can you hear anything?

Now, the next one, the video card and TV

To turn off Auto Insert, go back to Device Manager, and under CDROM, click Properties, and then look for auto insert. Untick that.

Whats the name of your video card? Is it Creative Play Center 2? If not, which I think it isn't, back to Device Manager and under Display will be the name of the card.

    Regards

    Hiya

So, the sound is working. What about the auto insert, is that ok?

Now, the video card. Have you got any picture coming up, or is the problem only occuring when you're trying to use TwinView?

This is about it, if you want a bit of a read:

    http://www.nvidia.com/docs/IO/90/ATT/TwinView.pdf

    Control panel | Display

    Display Properties, settings

Click Monitor number for the primary display device

select the display adapter for the primary display, colour and depth

click monitor number for second display device

select the display adapter for the primary display, select Extend My Windows Desktop Onto this monitor

colour and resolution for the secondry

    Regards

Thanks Eddie for ya help so far.. I'm getting there slowly!

I have the sound working again and I disabled the Creative Disc Detector which has solved my problem when I load a cd.

Simple! But not so for the TV out.. I'm still trying to find my way round this one. In Display Props>Settings>Advanced>Twin View shuold it be set to Clone or Standard? This applies to both display 1 and 2. And should they be set to PLug and PLay or Default Monitor?

With Standard>Device Settings>TV>UK Pal 1, the monitor turns off, and I see a fuzzy computer display on the TV but it only lasts 15 secs then reconverts to the monitor!

I leave this in your capable hands...

    Thanks again,

    Coolhand
