media player wont open after clicking on it

    MY WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER WONT OPEN AND PLAY MY SONGS/VIDEOS WHEN I CLICK ON IT??

    IT WAS WORKING OK A FEW DAYS AGO.


    WHY WONT IT WORK.????

    THERE´S NO ERROR MESSAGES! THERE´S NO PROCEES TITLED WMP*.EXE!

    WHAT SHOULD I DO?

    i´VE ALREADY TRIED THIS AND NOTHING HAPPENS:

    RESOLUTION
    To resolve this issue, use the following methods in the order that they are presented.

    Method 1: Reregister Jscript.dll and Vbscript.dll

    1. Click Start, and then click Run.
    2. In the Open box, type regsvr32 jscript.dll, and then click OK.
    3. Click OK.
    4. Click Start, and then click Run.
    5. In the Open box, type regsvr32 vbscript.dll, and then click OK.
    6. Click OK.

    when you right click on the icon does it say something like "C:\Program Files\Windows Media Player\wmplayer.exe" in the Target field? if not click find target and find your wmplayer.exe file in your program C:>Programs>Windows Media Player and try the shortcut again.

    Yes, the target is correct.
    I´v already try to open wmp in many differents ways, like explorer, cmd, security etc.

    Anyone else?

    Can you even find your wmplayer.exe?

    wmplayer.exe, wmpconfig.exe, wmpshare.exe....

    they are all in the same folder: C:\programs\windows media player

    download player from microsoft it should repair yours while installing
