well, i came here a couple months ago because i had some AIM spyware, and the people here were very helpful. by the end of the thread, seemingly all my spyware was gone, and my computer was up and running in no time. however... i think i have more. and i think it's a little leftover from last time, because i never completely fixed everything.

anyway, hopefully i could get some help, because...
    1) i have no idea what the source of the spyware is
    2) i dont have a clue what this HJT file means

i have noticed there are a lot of svchost.exe running on my processes. let's see...symptoms? slowed computer. freezes often. music often doesn't play through speakers, although that may be a different issue. (oh yeah--on the side, norton keeps telling me that "virus protection is turned off." so i go to norton and press "enable virus protection" but it doesn't do anything. does anyone know how i fix that too?

would someone be so kind? i've gotten fed and utterly frustrated at my computer. if you could give me detailed instructions because my understanding of computers is limited, that would be great.

    thanks so much =)

this topic got lost in the shuffle, and i really need help =X

now my computer is freezing on me constantly. at the password screen, i log in and it'll just freeze there and it'll take me 4 tries to actually get past that screen (turn power on and off).

i fear that soon i won't be able to login at all.
