After windows xp loads and I log into a profile I get the following error: The instruction at "0x7c911639" referred memory at "0x001ea045". The memory could not be read

If I click OK the desktop will appear, everything appears normal except my cox virus and firewall application will not start and the system crashes solid several times within a night.

    Any help would be great.

^download, burn to CD or floppy, reboot and run. This will let you know if your problem is definitively in the memory or not :)

That error is frequently a corrupted driver or application. It can also be as simple as a bad registry entry, the trick is finding which entry is bad. :D
