Just bought 2 sticks of memory at OfficeMax. It's DDR and got it for $9.99 a stick after rebates. They were out of the advertised Kingston, so the substituted K-Byte, and gave it to me at that price without having to wait for the rebates.

When I got home, I found out it's labeled as 2100/2700 and the tag on the stick says 2700. Called OfficeMax, and they said it's 2700, but will cycle back to 2100 if thats what my mobo uses.

Is this right? Is it backward compatible?

    Any input is much appreciated!!

Ok. Thanks. My mobo is an ECS K7S5A Pro, and only supports PC2100, so I wasn't sure if the 2700 would work.

    Again, thanks!!
