memory (ram) question

    Can I take my old memory out of my pentium 2 and put it in my new amd sempron p.c ?

    if they are the same type and size,

    ie 80pin etc

    would that be diffrent as in....

    the guy who sold me the new one said it takes ddr memory im sure my old one took memory of a diffrent letter...or was he spinnin me lines to get me to buy memory...lol..wouldnt suprise me!!!

    He was right. The pentium 2 used sdram. Totally different.

    Probably Not. Your PII should have used PC100 (SDRAM) and your Sempron will need at least DDR2700 (PC333). Note that the SDRAM is 168pin, and the DDR is 184pin
