    Hi all.

I am setting going to set up a base file for a heap of information that I have to access.

Am looking at doing this in word.

Is it possible to set up a navigation area on the left side of a word document that will automatically regenerate whenever a new page is created.

Have thought about using access but as I have never even opened it yet, I don't want to get into another learning curve at the moment.

Also, as there will be a lot of externalurl and email links, I thought it would be easier to write to word as the links will be automatically generated.

I am using Office 2000 pro.

PS. How secure is the password protection in word. Can it be easily cracked? Just wondering for my own security.

Word password protection can easily be cracked. You could setup a Table of Contents which will update whenever you apply a heading style to another section in the document. If you are looking into storing data then MS Access is what you should be looking in then.
