Anyone out there familiar with Mercury Mail? I am having a problem with what I believe to be "slamming". I have massive amounts of data going through the server. My main question will be, how can I tell if I am getting slammed. I have other info to give but I will wait for a response or specific questions before wasting my time typing it all. THANKS

    Hiya

Is this the one that is with Pegasus?

When you say 'slamming', what exactly do you mean? Do you mean SPAM?

    Regards

Yes, Pegasus is correct. Also yes to SPAM mail, either term works for me. I think I know what was happening. My E-mail server was getting "slammed" by a bunch of mail... IN OTHER WORDS I COULD SEE THE MAIL COMING IN OVER AND OVER ....... both the sender and the recipient were "called out" as [email protected] and [email protected] with the MY Domain name. It was as if my E-mail server was trying to send a mail that was not being accepted by another E-mail server, which in turn sent a reply to the Postmaster and then to the Admin. I HOPE THAT MADE SENSE. I could see this happening and it would eventually TIMEOUT ..... I think that is what happened. So what I may need to do is change a setting that will only try to send for a limited time. Any Ideas?

just for your info.... you used the term slammed when you actually meant spammed. there is a difference. slammed is the term used when someone steals your long distance service. when you say "you have been slammed" to a long distance carrier, they know exactly what you mean.
