Message reads CPU has illegal instruction

    I keep getting the message, 16 bit MS-DOS subsystem, C:\windows\system32\rundll32.exe

    The NTVDM CPU has encountered an illegal instuction C5:0536 IP:0100 OP:ff ff ff ff ff Chose close to terminate.

    I cant open my control panel, or accessories or anything else. I tried deleting some games but not using add/delete programs because it doesn't open. I can't get into properties cant switch screensavers, graphics or background. Please help!!!
