I am having problems with some sort of conflict with my MSN Messenger and Windows messenger. My MSN messenger is set to start at start up, and it does, but reasently my windows Messenger will start automaticly, signing me out of MSN. then 5 miniutes later they will switch again. then 5 mins later more of the same. Very annoying.

I reasently used Partition Magic to reformat my hard drive, as well as I have upgraded from XP home to XP pro. The problem started after I did these actions.

Please someone help me. I have been looking everwhere to find a way to disable my windows messanger, but it keeps starting up again

Windows XP, 2000, or NT messenger service.
    Messenger spam(not MSN messenger).

Windows Messenger is a tool used by system administrators to send alerts.
Some people are abusing the system, sending unsolicited messages that are
the equivalent of spam. Here's how to turn off Windows Messenger so that
you don't receive this screen spam.

Right-click My Computer and choose Manage.
Go down to Services and Applications and choose Services.
Scroll down to Messenger and right-click the entry.
Choose Disable on the General tab.
    Click OK.

If you're using the messenger service on your pc you should do yourself a service and install a firewall if you haven't.

Tried that and it didn't work. But fear not, thank you for the feed back on the issue, but I solved the problem by removing windows messenger from my pc by putting this into run:
    RunDll32 advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection %windir%\INF\msmsgs.inf,BLC.Remove
    Thanks

his way didn't work because there is no disable in it. you have to stop the service and choose manual so it doesn't start on reboot.
