I posted a thread similar to this a while back, but it was un-detailed and made when I was frustrated, and extremely tired. I remade this thread to make it much more in-depth so it will be possible for someone to help me.

A couple of days ago I got a Logitech USB Headset and it works fine. All went well until I decided to use my mic, and sadly, my computer doesn't even detect it. I have tried using this on 4 different computers, and on one of them I think it MIGHT have worked, but it shut down randomly when I plugged it in and is password protected.

The system specs of the comp I want to run it on:

Dell Dimension DIM5100
Intel Pentium 4 CPU 2.80GHz
2.79GHz, 1 gig of Ram

Sound Card: SigmaTel Audio

Gathered solutions that I have tried:

Updating sound card drivers.
Checking if mic is muted in volume controls
Selecting my mic name for whatever program I want to use the mic on

Alright, given all this info, I hope someone can help me. Thanks for your time, adios.

Check that the correct input device is selected in Sounds and Audio (or however named) in Control Panel?
