I have a Microsoft IntelliMouse Explorer - about 2-3 years old. Today it
has frozen twice - I just wondered if it was wearing out - or what do you
think? Why would it suddenly freeze twice in one day?
When the mouse freezes, does the keyboard still work? Some people mistake the mouse freezing with the whole computer freezing. I seriously doubt the problem is the mouse. More likely it's a program running in the background or some other obscure hardware problem.
does your mouse take batteries such as my wireless intellimouse explorer 2.0? when the batteries die in my mouse it just freezes then i just grab some new batteries and it works fine
Hi Lightning - the keyboard does work, because I was trying to close programs down using the keys - ended up switching of the computer and rebooting - all was ok then.
Eraserhead - thanks, but mine isnt a wireless mouse -
Judy
My original MS Explorer died with the same symptoms. (So did a work colleagues').
If you still have the receipt for your MS Intellimouse Explorer you're in luck because they came with a Lifetime warranty - and Microsoft will replace it.
I returned a faulty unit to Hardly Normal in Darwin in early 2003 - had receipt for purchase in 2001. It took 3 phone calls to Microsoft and an exchange of e-mails but I was issued with a replacement FOC.
Actually I thought it might be on the way out - its the 2nd one I have had in the past few years.
I'll give them a ring - thank you!
Judy
